The other day Amber and I were fulfilling our Christian duty of eating dinner at Chick-Fil-A when our friends, Eddie and Amy, joined us. Eddie spent two years in Thailand after college and asked us a question I've been pondering over the last couple of days. He asked, “What part of America do you think you will miss the most after you move?”
Obviously, our family and church will definitely be missed, so will running into friends at, say, Chick-Fil-A (which doesn’t exist in Nicaragua). But luckily, we will have staples like McDonalds and Coke (made with real sugar rather than High-Fructose Corn Syrup). Recently, I found out some news that almost derailed the whole endeavor. Apparently, Oreos are pretty scarce in Managua.
It's hard to know exactly what we’ll miss because we haven’t spent whole lot of time in Nicaragua, but generally speaking, I think America is easy and Nicaragua will be complicated… at least for us. So, Oreos are, by far, what I am most not looking forward to giving up.
What American product do you think you would miss the most?
