Team Elswick is made up of Tony Elswick, the team’s fearless leader; Amber Elswick, Chief Operating Officer; four wild Indian princesses: Abigail, Hannah-Lillie, Bethany, and Nicolette; and YOU! The Elswicks have started on a grand adventure as they prepare to move to Nicaragua to disciple and equip indigenous men to plant churches.
Tony grew up as an Army brat, moving every few years until his family settled down in sunny South Florida. He felt a desire for missions since he was in elementary school. In high school, he spent a month in Panama and was able to travel to Romania for a youth conference while in college. Tony had the good sense to attend the University of Central Florida where he met and married his lovely wife, Amber.
Born in Oxford, Mississippi, Amber is a child of the Deep South. Her family eventually relocated to Winter Haven, Florida, where she spent most of her childhood. Amber also had the foresight to attend the great educational institution of UCF and spent the summer following her freshman year in Japan, the Land of the Rising Sun. Her time in Japan solidified a call to missions in Amber’s heart.
In 2002, during a pleasant, lakeside wedding in Lake Wales, the two officially created Team Elswick. Tony and Amber moved to Fort Lauderdale and decided that the team was way too small, so they had their first daughter, Abigail, in 2004. Their second daughter, Hannah-Lillie, came along in 2006, and during 2008 and a short stint in Raleigh, North Carolina, Bethany joined the team. The Elswicks settled in Winter Haven and added their sixth member, little Nicolette, in 2011.
